Are Steroids Really Bad For You?

Mark Cuban recently made waves when he indirectly challenged the negative effects of steroids and opined they have their place in rehabilitative scenarios. There are a number of negative consequences on the book for steroids, but are steroids really that bad for you?

Negative Consequences

  1. liver tumors
  2. fluid retention
  3. high blood pressure

For Men

  1. shrinking of the testicles
  2. reduced sperm count
  3. infertility
  4. baldness
  5. development of breasts

For Women

  1. growth of facial hair
  2. changes in or cessation of the menstrual cycle
  3. deepened voice

There are a few other regular side effects, but this is most of the medical extent of it.  On the other hand, you see that many guys will rubber stamp steroids as ok under the right circumstances.  Steroid taking is still relatively new as it began exploding in the 80s so there may be more side effects coming, but to date there may not be as many proven detriments as sports pages and Congressman would have you believe.

I still high advise against steroid usage.

  1. Why would you want to use steroids for short term gains when you can look just as good, if not BETTER naturally. And if ridiculous body proportions is your idea of looking the BEST then ignore what I said.

Still… eventuallyyou WILL pay for it out of your a$$, literally!
