Yesterday’s non-farm payrolls data showed a rather dramatic drop off in job loss for the month of May. While the numbers of the unemployed are still staggering when compared with recent history (the last 10-15 years), the fact that lost jobs grew by “only” 345,000 instead of the expected 525,000 has many analysts declaring the end of the recession.

However, the recession may not be over yet — especially with regard to us “regular folks.” And, while the end is probably in sight, it’s not quite time to rest on our laurels.
