Are you persistent? You better be.

You need persistence if you want to make it as a startup. Anyone you see succeeding in business is there only because he or she kept on keeping on.
Starting up any business will have moments of jubilation and moments of desperation; feelings of achievement and feelings of complete failure; times of great progress and times of stagnation; you will get excited and you will get frustrated.
But if you keep going, you will ultimately build a business you are proud of.

Sure, you can become an overnight success, but you probably won’t. You will more likely become successful with a long term, persistent effort. These quick rich promises are simply empty. The only ones getting rich are the ones making these promises. You won’t.
So find your opportunity. Research and develop it. And then pursue it.
Pursue it with persistence. You are going to fall once and a while. You may even lose money before you make money. Calculate your tolerance for risk! It might take time before you start making any real money depending on the venture. It all depends on your skills, your background, and the opportunity.
There are no rules or statistics that can predict the results of any venture, but through persistence we can tilt the odds in our favor.

Hi Shannon,
One of my favorite quotes about persistence, from President Coolidge:
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
