Hi, my name is Robin. I’m a gamer, a blogger, a husband and a father. And a novelist. And I’ll be your guide to all things E3 2009 here at EveryJoe.com.
After two lackluster years, the gamers’ mecca known as E3 is finally bringing back the awesome return to the giant booths, bigger crowds and all the money the world’s video game makers can throw at it. I say bring it on! The noise and the flash and the crazy, is all part of what makes E3 so much fun!

I’ll be at ground zero in Los Angeles all week long, playing the games, getting the scoops, taking pictures and videos and bringing it all to you! You can expect tons of screenshots, videos, hands-on previews, daily you-are-there reports, and pictures of all the action live at E3. This image will help you identify my latest posts:

Deodorant. Nobody wants to smell you, dude. Reapply frequently.
Gloves. Swag bags are brutal on the hands. Don’t believe me? Your blisters will. Pants with Lots of Pockets. Especially if you’re media — you have a lot to carry! Convertible Clothes. Officially, you’re supposed to dress “business casual.” Screw that. It’s hot on the show floor. Good Tennis Shoes. Only a dope wears flip-flops when there’s so much walking to do. Bandaids & Ointment. Even the best shoes won’t protect your feet from the inevitable. |
The game plan looks like this. I’m scheduled to fly into Los Angeles around mid-day Sunday. I’ve got appointments lined up for the whole week, all the big press conferences to attend and tons of roaming the show floor to do. So I’ll be running from one thing to the next all day, every day. I’ll be Tweeting live about news and goings-on, so be sure to follow my Twitter account (@robinparrish) if you want as-it-happens updates. Then every evening, I’ll head back to my hotel and write up more detailed reports on everything I saw and did; along with previews of the hottest games, upload all the photos, screenshots and videos the hotel’s bandwidth will allow (Sleep is not a big priority at E3!).
Oh, and I’ll also be posting a few reports over at Wired.com, though the bulk of my E3 coverage will be right here.
It’s a pleasure to meet you and I hope you’ll come along for the ride!
