Are you treating your business like a buffet?

Let’s face it, we can all lose focus of our business goals as we get swept into the details and distractions of daily life.
I will admit there are times I get ‘bright shiny object syndrome’, that is, getting distracted by things (usually cool techie stuff) that keep me away from the big picture.
There’s so much stuff out on the Internet, it’s very much like a buffet. But taking too much from a buffet often leads to indigestion.
Here are just some of the many distractions:
- hopping from the old ‘big’ social networking site to the next ‘big’ one. I suggest picking one and sticking with it for a while. It’s the only way it will work.
- becoming a domain junkie. Are you one of those people who buys domains at the drop of an idea? Probably a waste of your time, unless you truly are in the reselling business.
- tweaking web design or web copy until it’s perfect. Nothing’s perfect. Let it go already!
- grabbing on to the latest so-called time management gadget or any too for that matter. Again, choose one and stick with it.
So what’s your experience with the Internet buffet? Are you grabbing one more crab leg?

Thanks for the reminder to focus.
I especially relate to the tendency to tweak web copy beyond its value for the time and energy expended. I also need to ask, “What did I NOT do because I spent so much time perfecting my writing?” Does that lost opportunity outweigh what the refined copy got me? I often wonder.
Wonderfull idea.
Your suggestions here should be posted on billboards along the highway!
Losing focus and getting way off track is a gargantuan pitfall to network marketing.
Thanks for the gentle reminder to stop grabbing another crab leg.
