Multiple World Championship Winning Luger, Armin Zoeggeler, zoomed to victory in a stunning 3 minutes 26 seconds. His closest competitor, Russian Albert Demtschenko, was a paper-thin 110 milliseconds behind.
Zoeggeler’s victory brings home Italy’s first Gold Medal.

Zoeggeler, a winner of many World Championships, has never won an Olympic Gold since his debut at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics.
The Americans went home empty handed again despite sending many world-class lugers to the Olympics.
