Artis Chambers Almost Makes Life Easier for Penn State. Almost.

Coach Carr isn’t saying why, but freshman player Artis Chambers is ineligible for Big Ten play. Today, the Big Ten ruled that Michigan won’t have to forfeit any past games for this safety blunder, but Chambers won’t be playing for the rest of the season.

For awhile there, Penn State fans were sitting on the edge of their seats. If the Big Ten would have ruled differently, it could have meant a reversal on that win by Michigan. That’s about the most idiotic thing I’ve heard in while. I mean, it was pretty unfair. He played, and his action changed the game where he shouldn’t have been allowed to suit up. But, is it any more fair to allow Penn State the win because one of the Michigan players broke and academic ineligibility rule? (I mean, that’s probably the issue here…no one is officially talking about it).

In any case, it makes me like Michigan even less. They’re calling this an administrative error.  Whatever. You can’t tell me that no one realized the mistake. At the very least, Chambers should have known that he wasn’t eligible under Big Ten rules. The coaches/department personnel should have realized it as well. Even if it was a mistake…how the hell do you let a mistake like that happen? Shouldn’t you have a system that doesn’t allow these errors to ever be an issue. To me, it seems 100% unfair, and I’m not just saying that because Penn State lost. All of the games where Chambers played would have been different had he not played. Personally, I think the games should be thrown out or replayed. Which, I mean, that’s not exactly fair either.

I think that Michigan should have owned up to the mistake and said, “We messed up. Chambers messed up. The games we played were unfair, and we’re going to turn them over.” THEN let the Big Ten rule. Instead, they were like, “Please don’t strip us of those wins…we promise we’ll be gooooood.” Whatever, Michigan. You are not a two-year-old. Man up.

Michigan, kiss my ass. What happened was a testament to your players, your program, and your attitude.

Allison do you play foootball? because if so you’d know that the rules for the big ten is contained within a book with over 500 pages, so for you to say that Artis Chambers a freshmen, just out of high school should know all the rules of the big ten is a load of BS. If this is what you thought then it’s apparent that you don’t know about football; so I’ll school you on a few things, first it’s not his (Artis Chambers) job to know Big Ten rules, there is a group of individuals who get paid for interpreting the rules of the Big Ten this is what they do, which many have done for over 20 years. The coaches don’t get paid to interpret rules they get paid to make plays and win games, so again you really don’t know what the you’re talking about. It was the University that called and informed the Big Ten, they have worked hard to comply with those rules and accept full responsibility. Can you even tell me what Artis Chambers # is, I didn’t think so, your journalistic integrity is not intact you are writing information that no one should know about which is a violation of confidentiality rules and is probably grounds for a lawsuit for you, your source, and who ever represents you. My suggestion for you is to get your facts straight, try reporting on the football players who were alledgedly charged with rape. assult, and other serious and real crimes, oh yea the University has accepted the mistake or did you not read the AP article that was released, there was a meeting there were and are decisions that have been made and are going to be made. It’s one thing to attack the credability of the Universities academic integrity, and the ability of the coaches, but for you to say that all their game should be forfeited is a bunch of BS or how ” to you, it seems 100% unfair, oh boo who, get over it and the kissing of you ass is just infantile, that just shows the quality of your education and the Institution of which you attend or attended. MOVE ON AND LOOK OUT FOR A POSSIBLE LAWSUIT.

    Dear Enraged Michigan Fan,

I would like to address all of your concerns, so here we go:

    1. “Allison do you play foootball?” Oh please. You don’t have to play football to be a fan. And yes, I do know that there’s a massive book containing all of the rules. I believe that I said that if this was a mistake, a computer system should have picked up his ineligibility. I used to work for higher education, and that’s how sports eligibilities are tallied. Someone enters into the computer the parameters, and obviously whoever did that did it incorrectly. That’s this person’s JOB, so yes, I think they are to blame.

    2. “The coaches don’t get paid to interpret rules…” That’s why I said coaches/department personnel – because I honestly don’t know what Michigan calls the job position of the person who was responsible. Every school calls their administrative people by different names.

    3. “Can you even tell me what Artis Chambers # is” What does that have to do with anything? I don’t sit up at night and memorize players’ numbers lol. If I want to know someone’s number, I look it up.

    4. “your journalistic integrity is not intact you are writing information that no one should know about which is a violation of confidentiality rules and is probably grounds for a lawsuit for you, your source, and who ever represents you.” I’m sure ESPN would welcome your lawsuit. But really…what are you talking about “confidential information”? It was a news story that I choose to report with my own opinion.

    5. “try reporting on the football players who were alledgedly charged with rape. assult,” Um. This proves that you don’t read my site AT ALL. I’m glad that a search engine brought you here and you felt the need to defend your team without knowing what you are talking about first. Aw, that’s so cute.

    6. “did you not read the AP article that was released” Did you not read the date this article was posted?

    7. “but for you to say that all their game should be forfeited is a bunch of BS” Wow, so you didn’t read the article then? Because I said just the opposite of that.

    8. “MOVE ON AND LOOK OUT FOR A POSSIBLE LAWSUIT.” I haven’t touched on this issue since it was first reported, so maybe it is you who should move on.

    Thanks for reading!

    xoxox,
    Allison
