Astros Pitcher, Brandon Backe Arrested In Brawl

Those Texans sure know how to party! At a wedding reception held in a Galveston hotel bar, Brandon Backe was among 10 people arrested during a melee. A FEMA coordinator was also arrested. Nice.

Backe was a member of the wedding party and repeatedly ignored orders to stay away from the brawl. He wrestled with a few officers and was reportedly struck in the face for resisting arrest. Backe was released on $1,500 bond.

Back on the baseball diamond, the Boston Red Sox proved once again why they rock in October. Unlike the Chicago Cubs, the Sox don’t fold under pressure. Instead they rise to the occasion. Now they face the Rays in the ALCS.
