My son was born during the Atlanta games opening ceremony. At the hospital the doctors made us turn off the tv while he was being born, but as soon as they brought him over for me to hold him we all asked for the tv to go back on so we could see who lit the torch.

I was a spectator at the 1996 Olympics. I wasn’t there for the opening ceremonies, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. Plus, I have a newfound respect for badminton!

What great stories! I have yet to attend any Olympic event, but the video clips of the opening ceremonies always get me all teary. I’d probably be a mess if I saw it live and in person.
