AT&T To Move Corporate Headquarters Out Of San Antonio
Company’s Stated Goal Is ‘Easier Access to Customers and Operations Around the World.’ So Company is Moving to … Wait for It … Dallas
Is AT&T secretly run by the government? Because moving your company four hours up the road from San Antonio to Dallas to get “easier access to customers and operations around the world” sounds like something the Congressman from Dallas pushed through in a midnight pork session.
If you want easier worldwide access, move to Europe. Though, in fairness, maybe this is just a first step for AT&T. This year they’re moving to Dallas, next year they’ll move to Oklahoma City and then it’s a major leap to Nashville. At this rate, they’ll be in London for the celebration of the next millennium.
Last time I checked, AT&T was in the communications business, so if they really want easier access to customers they should probably make a phone that gets more than half-a-bar anytime you’re outside a major city.
In other news, the hot dog vendor at 34th and Park is moving his cart to 42nd and Eighth Avenue in an effort to be closer to fat tourists.
