On Saturday night, Mark Ingram became the third sophomore in a row to win the Heisman Trophy. Ingram, who is a tailback for National Championship contender Alabama was tear-eyed as he took the stage to thank his team, his coach, and everyone else he could think of at that moment. Few of us would have guessed at the beginning of the season that he’d be the winner. It was called “The Year of the Quarterback,” yet we’ve mainly been let down by the talent that returned for another year of college football. With the regular season all but over (there’s one remaining game between Army and Navy), we’ve seen another week of coaches being hired and fired. Schools have a lot of difficult decisions to make leading up to their bowl games (or lack of bowl games). Most notably, Bobby Bowden was all but forced out of Florida State, Mark Mangino was fired at Kansas, and Charlie Weis accepted his fate and has coacehd his last game at Notre Dame.
