15% of UK 360 Owners Think They’re MacGyver

HOLY CRAP MONKEYS! According to a piece I just read on Game Politics, a CNET UK survey is showing a 60% fail rate on Xbox 360s. 60 freakin’ percent! Now, if you read through Game Politic’s article, you’ll see that the folks who bought their 360s after Jan. ‘08 had a fail rate of 34%. So, that’s not as bad but still sucks. What really cracks me up are the 15% of people who responded that they either junked their junk 360s or tried “to fix it themselves”. Really?! 15% of the folks who answered the CNET UK survey actually decided to rip open their 360s and fix it themselves? I say the whole 15% since I just can’t see someone just throwing something out without trying to fix it first. Imagine the bragging... [Read more]

Cursor Invisible

I am a fan of addictive games and I guess the whole thing that makes a game addictive is the fact that it basically compels you to try again. And again. And again. You keep trying until you want to toss your computer across the room and once you take a breath and calm yourself down, you go back to the game because that game has now made you its bitch and you can’t help yourself. Cursor Invisible did that to me today. I don’t even know how I found this damn game but find it I did and once I scored 54, it was all pretty much downhill from there. Not that that stopped me from trying another 20 times or anything. I think my worst score before I stopped was 4…because I’m awesome. As is the nature of Flash games, you have the... [Read more]

Target Black Friday Gaming Deals

Target is sweetening the Black Friday deals by adding giftcards to their gaming deals. If you buy a Nintendo DS [preloaded with 5 bonus applications] for $169.99, you get a free $20 Target giftcard. If you buy Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Assassin’s Creed II, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Mario and Sonic or Nerf: N-Strike Elite for $59.99 or less, you’ll get a $10 Target giftcard with each game you buy. Buy a 120GB Xbox 360 Elite Bundle with Pure and Lego Batman and you get a $50 Target giftcard. Buy the Call of Duty Super Elite Xbox 360 bundle for $399.99 and you also get a $50 Target giftcard. I love Target and the giftcards are a smart move for Target to make. They give consumers an incentive to shop at their store instead of Best Buy... [Read more]

Black Friday Gaming Deals

OK, shoppers, it’s time to get serious. Have you been to your favorite stores and mapped out your routes for Black Friday? You must have a game plan. Don’t expect to just waltz in there and get the games and systems you’ve been pining for. You’ll end up leaving empty handed. The two Black Friday ads that I’ve found thus far are for Best Buy and Toys “R” Us and the deals are pretty freakin’ hot. I’m sure Target ads will be leaked soon and when I find it, I’ll do a new post with those deals. Here’s what looks good from Best Buy: Xbox 360 Elite 120GB system that includes Pure and Lego Batman in box PLUS Sonic the Hedgehog, Spiderman Web of Shadows, Wall-E and Ghost Recon 2 for $299.99 120... [Read more]

I Suck at Fat Princess

I’m pretty sure that I’ve written about Fat Princess before but it’s Sunday and I’m just too damn lazy to go looking for the link. And anyway, I’m pretty sure I wrote something about the controversy surrounding Fat Princess and that really doesn’t have anything to do with what I’m writing today. The point is that I suck at Fat Princes. I downloaded the demo from the Playstation Network, very excited to finally try my hand at the game. I selected the “play with yourself” option since I am new to this whole cake filled wonderment and didn’t want to embarrass myself. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that multiplayer is disabled if you’re just playing the demo. Like I said, I didn’t... [Read more]
