Bug Found in Borderlands

So, yeah, I haven’t played Borderlands yet and I know you’ve got to be tired of hearing that because I’m tired of writing it. How hard is it to rent a girl a freakin’ video game? I have a sneaking suspicion that the game is going to end up under the Christmas tree – at least it better end up under the Christmas tree. Then again, maybe it’s a good thing that I haven’t started playing yet since there appears to be some “issues” I was reading through Game Informer’s website [if you haven't been there in a while, they've redesigned it and it's pretty sweet] and hit on this article about a bug being found in co-op games. Like a nasty ass bug that causes you to lose skill points that you... [Read more]
Prince of Persia Movie and Casting Fail?

This morning, as I was drinking my coffee, the trailer for the Prince of Persia movie came on. The first thing I thought was, “Jake Gyllenhaal? Really?!” Now, don’t get me wrong. I like Jake Gyllenhaal. I think I’d like to hang-out with him and have an adult beverage. I enjoy his acting and have liked several of his movies. But I just didn’t see Gyllenhaal in this role. Granted, they’ve changed his look a bit to fit the role with his darker skin and longer hair. Plus, it looks like he’s packed on quite a few pounds of muscle and he’s very nice to look at. And now as I’m writing this, I’m not sure who I would rather see in the role. For some reason, I just can’t get my head around... [Read more]
Root – Like Rootbeer but SO Much Better

I just got the most amazing PR packet in from Root. I’ve said before that I like “weird” spirits and I also like fantastic packaging. The way a product is presented can either make you want to try what’s in the packaging or it can make you not want to try it. I was already excited about Root but the presentation put me over the top. Really, how can you beat little mason jars full of booze? I screwed off the lid of one of the cute bottles and took a sniff. Root beer. My heart fell a bit because I was under the impression that this wasn’t going to be heavy on the root beer flavor. It wasn’t. Root is subtle in its root beer taste. You get a hint of root beer but it’s so much more and less. Instead of the... [Read more]
Agwa de Bolivia but without the Cocaine

I like “weird” spirits. The stuff that most people have never heard of and the stuff that’s maybe a bit hard to find at the corner liquor store is my cup of…well…booze. When I say weird, I don’t mean that in a bad way; I mean it in the nicest way possible. Maybe I should say “different” or “off the beaten path” but weird just seems to work the best. Agwa de Bolivia is a liquor made of coca leaves and in my book, that makes it a “weird” liquor. Before you go searching for a bottle of the green stuff to get high on cocaine, you should know that all of the cocaine has been removed by boiling the heck out of the leaves. However, you still get a euphoric feeling from the other... [Read more]
Dragon Age: Origins

I’ve bellyached for quite some time now about my need for a game with a strong story that wasn’t repetitive and managed to hold my interest for longer than an hour. Looks like I just might find that in Dragon Age: Origins. Even though I am a diehard PS3 fan [fangirl?] this is one game that I’m probably going to get for PC based on the awesome Tool Set. See below. The character creation reminds me a bit of Oblivion and I’m not complaining. Being able to micromanage the character traits added realism to the game and made me feel more connected with the character that I had lovingly created. This type of customization is brought to Dragon Age: Origins but with necessary tweaks and it doesn’t seem to be as in-depth... [Read more]
