Every Christmas, well wait. I’ve only been doing this for two years — the past two holidays had me thinking up of ways to give out personalized gifts that were affordable and consumable as well. I thought of doing a little link building technique using customized cakes. The end result was a package of several types of cakes and cookies with the link of my sites posted onto them. What it is, technically is selling link spots for about USD $0.70 cents per cookie and USD $1.25 for cupcakes. Maybe you should give it a try? With the recent PageRank crack down on sites that sell links, how has this affected your blogs on the SERPs? Have you found other “Google friendly” means to monetize your site? There are so many brokerage programs out there that need a chance to get noticed. With the recent developments of Google’s advertising clamp down, these sites will probably gain more than lose as web masters and bloggers innovate the monetization scheme. Rather than filing a DMCA case, do you prefer to live at peace knowing that your site is being ripped? In a recent panel I was part of for a blog summit, the question of how to treat content rippers was brought up. This is old news for most of us, but the answer to the question depends mostly on the attitude we want to take as authors. For one, imitation is the best form of flattery and it really doesn’t hurt to have your content ripped off by scrapers as long as they give you a link. But on another note, the artist in you feels that urge to take them on. Legally, there may be a case, but then again, scraper sites will come and go.
