If you’ve been waiting on an official date for Sky TV hitting your beloved Microsoft console, here you go: October 27. Start the countdown. For those of you that hadn’t heard, the Xbox 360 continues to mark its territory in the entertainment spectrum, soon launching on-demand movies, television shows. Pricing for the service remains hush hush, but will be made available once the player launches at the end of the month. Two weeks to go! Rumor Mill: More Powerful Nintendo DS in the Works

Despite the fact that the Nintendo DSi just came out earlier this year, there’s already rumors circulating that a better, more powerful Nintendo portable console is in the works. We’re talking next generation DS. We’re talking numbers instead of letters. Forget Nintendo DSj … we’re jumping straight to Nintendo DS2. A complete overhaul of the current system sporting a brand spankin’ new Zune HD processor. Assuming the rumors are true, of course. Potential Wii Price Drop (Maybe?)

So, there’s no confirmation from Nintendo that the Wii is going down in price. In fact, everything we’d heard until now is that the Wii is not going to go down in price no matter what the other Big Boys are doing with their next gen consoles. But in business, like in life, there are no never-nevers and no absolutes. So, while Nintendo may have believed that their Wii was the perfect price, they may have changed their minds. Bottomline: Both Walmart and Toys R Us are reporting a $50 price drop for the Wii console, bringing it down to a sexy $199.99. Doesn’t that look kinder on the wallet?
