I’m in complete shock – one of my favorite choreographers has been arrested for child molestation. Shane Sparks who you may know as a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance was picked up by the police at 8am yesterday morning according to KTLA. image: Michael Becker/FOX The 40-year-old allegedly assaulted a child back in 1994 and is being charged with “two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of oral copulation with a minor and lewd conduct with a child under 14, which is a felony.” He’s currently being held on $590,000 bail and is said to have been at least 10 years older than his accuser. One of the most highly anticipated movies of the year has been released in theaters. Avatar is now playing at basically every cinema in North America. James Cameron is behind this film so you know it’s going to be over-the-top when you consider how much effort he put into Titanic and Terminator. image: 20th Century Fox Avatar tells the story an ex-Marine who awakens on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. “As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people.” It sounds pretty good. If I didn’t have so much last-minute shopping to do, I’d probably go to see it. I was just at Toys R Us tonight and people were... [Read more]

Wow. Canadian band Nickelback has been named the group of the decade by Billboard magazine. What the heck? I know they’ve done well for themselves but it just surprises me. I live in Alberta now and it’s amazing to me to think that they came from the small town of Hanna here and have gone on to have such huge success. image: Zuma Press Their song “How You Remind Me” was chosen as the top rock song of the decade and it also placed #4 on the Top 10 songs of this decade. I can see that. I really love that song. I still listen to it all the time on my iPod. To further solidify their spot as the best group in these past 10 years, Billboard cites that they have had five other Top 10 singles and that their last four albums have... [Read more]
New “Alice in Wonderland” Trailer

When I first heard that Tim Burton was making a new version of Alice in Wonderland, I seriously rolled my eyes. What for? We’ve all heard this story a million times and the animated Disney version is a classic. I was a little more intrigued when I saw the first production stills and video but this new trailer is making me actually want to see this movie. Tim Burton is a lunatic. A genius, but still a lunatic, and that is what makes his films so incredibly interesting and entertaining for children and adults alike. This looks like one of those movies that everyone could enjoy as long as they are willing to take a journey into the dark and twisted imagination of Burton. The film stars Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham... [Read more]
