It’s with a little sadness that we have to let this little blog go into retirement – I don’t know for how long. That’s not for me to decide. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the readers who sat through our little adventure – a dash of news and commentary with some hint of sarcasm. That’s what we were.

Blogs come and go nowadays, and for TSU to have lasted a while, I must say thank you to everyone who subscribed, linked and left comments.

VATICAN CITY–The Vatican will publish a report on Friday detailing the launch of Pope Benedict XVI’s own dedicated channel on YouTube, the Osservatore Romano newspaper said.

The deal with search engine giant Google, which owns the video sharing website, aims to “secure the Pope’s presence on the web,” the Vatican paper said Thursday, adding that Benedict has always had been “fond of new technologies.”

The report will be published when the German-born pontiff will officially launch his YouTube channel.

Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, head of the Vatican’s communications department, told the paper the pope hopes to reach out to “the digital generation.” [source]

The Pope on YouTube should be an exciting experience for Catholics around the world. Having the successor of St. Peter on your screen regularly helps keep the “flock” together. I do wish that the Pope’s engagement would be a more “informal” one than something you could have watched on television. I’d love it if he really talked to Catholics, and not have too much production value to it.

Apple has recently dumped the Serial Number registration for iWork ‘09. If you’re buying it off the retail box, it will work as a full version without having to input anything! It’s the same with the iLife suite – which never required a key to work since it’s usually bundled with a new Mac. The same also goes for a copy of any Mac OS.

Remember that Apple isn’t just a software company. They are into the total user experience having a monopoly on both hardware and software. You NEED a Mac to use iLife or iWork properly and ONLY Apple makes these.

So yeah, the money you pay for iWork probably just goes to an employee bonus :)
