Jeff Greenwell

Born in the honeymoon capital of the world, Niagara Falls, Ontario. Lucky to have been able to spend my childhood growing up for a few years in quintessential small town America, Bardstown, Kentucky, before returning to beautiful Canada. Now that Tiger Woods has admitted to “transgressions” in a statement released on his website (www.tigerwoods.com), he’s opened himself up to criticism for his infidelity.  First up–Jesper Parnevik.  Truth be told, Parnevik has a bit of a vested interest in the whole situation, seeing that he and his wife were responsible for setting up Elin Nordegren with Tiger.  It’s been so long that it’s easy to forget that at one time Nordegren was working as a nanny for the Parneviks.  It was at the 2001 British Open that Nordegren was first introduced to Woods.  They married in 2004. Jesper Parnevik (Image: Zuma Press) Parnevik, unlike the media, isn’t holding back judgement on Woods though.  In fact, he’s... [Read more]

With a boatload of questions still surrounding the infamous Tiger Woods car accident, the host of this week’s Chevron World Challenge, none other than Tiger himself, is bowing out.  His reason?  Injuries sustained from his recent car accident.  The Golf Challenge reports that Woods is suffering from headaches and soreness, thus his reason for pulling out. Tiger Woods (Image: Zuma Press) Without a doubt fans are going to be upset.  And why shouldn’t they be?  The No.1 golfer in the world, hosting his own event no less, is the main reason many fans bought tickets in the first place.  But fear not–tournament officials are offering refunds to fans who were expecting to see Woods this weekend.  Those that choose to attend... [Read more]

When all was said and done, the Irish team of Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell just couldn’t get it done, and in the end, the Italian brother combo of Francesco and Edoardo Molinari took the World Cup of Golf.  In doing so, the Molinari brothers become the first team of siblings to win the prestigious award.  The brothers shot a 4-under 68 in the alternate-shot format to finish one-stroke better than the teams from Ireland and Sweden. Francesco (left) and Edoardo Molinari (Image: Zuma Press) Francesco and Edoardo Molinari finished the tournament at 29-under, which featured two-rounds of better ball and two rounds of alternate-shot format.  Defending champs Henrik Stenson and Robert Karlsson shot 69 to finish at 28-under, tied with McIlroy... [Read more]

With all the buzz surrounding Tiger Woods’ ‘bizarre’ car accident, we sometimes forget that there’s still golf being played in the world.  But not too worry, yours truly will keep you in the loop.  At the World Cup of Golf, the dynamic duo of Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell of Ireland are still ahead of the pack, but by the slimmest of margins.  While McIlroy and McDowell were carding an 8-under 64 in the fourball format, the Italian brother combo of Edoardo and Francesco Molinari shot an 11-under 61 to gain three strokes on the Irish lads, while defending champion Sweden’s team of Robert Karlsson and Henrik Stenson went around in 62, to tie for second with the Italians. Rory McIlroy (left) and Graeme McDowell... [Read more]

Tiger Woods Involved in Car Accident

By now you’ve probably heard the news–Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident earlier today, with early reports saying Woods was in ’serious’ condition after losing control of his SUV after backing out of his driveway around 2:30 a.m.  Apparently Tiger’s wife, Elin Nordegren, heard the accident and rushed out of the house to find her husband inside the damaged vehicle.  Woods had run over a fire hydrant and hit a tree before coming to a stop.  The vehicle’s airbags did not deploy.  When emergency services arrived they found Nordegren standing over Woods, with a golf club in her hand, after she had smashed the back window out to retrieve her injured husband.  Woods was supposedly in and out of consciousness... [Read more]
