Regal Crowned King of the Ring on Raw
Though the tournament had hype the participants, and eventual winner, of the WWE’s King of the Ring tournament left much to be desired. Many felt that King of the Ring had massive potential this time around, and in my eyes the concept does still have its merits, but when William Regal, the Raw GM and rare wrestler these days, is crowned King it’s quite obsious something is amiss but that was the cast this week. To little fanfare Regal captured the crown and not much else on Monday night. In all honesty I thoroughly enjoyed the presidential match storyline they promoted. Boxing: Byrd’s Light Heavyweight Debut Set For May 16th
From ESPN: Free-agent former two-time heavyweight titleholder Chris Byrd, who is moving down to light heavyweight, has signed with promoter Artie Pelullo’s Banner Promotions. “I’ve been a fan and friend of Chris’ for a long time, and I’m looking forward very much to working with him,” Pelullo said. “I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people, but Chris — the former two-time heavyweight champ — is going to be fighting at 175 pounds.
