Glen “Big Baby” Davis already has an NBA Championship under his belt. But he wants to become an NBA All Star before he goes back to his other love: football. The 6-foot-9, 290-pound forward for the Boston Celtics was once a standout football player in high school, but like Greg Paulus he decided to accept a basketball scholarship to LSU instead. (Paulus was rated the top high school quarterback in the country before he accepted a scholarship to play basketball at Duke University for Coach K.) Davis just signed a $6 million two-year deal with the Celtics, so he won’t be making any NFL moves just yet. “One of my dreams has always been to play football,” he said, according to ESPN.com. “I definitely could... LeBron And Kobe On The Same Team?

Sounds a bit crazy, right? But it could happen. Once he hits the free agent market this summer, LeBron James is going to have more options than a boyscout with a jackknife. He’s going to end up with a huge contract no matter where he goes. But that’s the main concern on everyone’s mind — just where exactly is King James going to go? Some NBA analysts speculate about New York, arguing that James belongs in a big city where he can take advantage of off-court opportunities. The same could be said about Los Angeles. It would be a better fit for him for two main reasons: 1. Kobe Bryant. 2. Hollywood potential. James could easily break into the entertainment industry while living in L.A., and he’d be teamed up with the... [Read more]
Farmar And Morrison To Become Free Agents

The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to let Jordan Farmar and Adam Morrison join the growing pool of free agents at the end of the 2009 -2010 season. It’s no secret that Farmar has had a more successful NBA career than Morrison. Known as a three-point shooter and for his ability to get a rise out of opponents, Farmar wants to have more than just a supporting role on the court. He currently makes $1.9 million, and stands to make a lot more with another NBA team. While Farmar may not have the clout or talent that other free agent point guards might have, he’d be a decent addition to any roster. Adam Morrison was the third pick in the 2006 NBA Draft but hasn't lived up to expectations. As for Adam Morrison, there’s isn’t... [Read more]
Las Vegas Gambles For An NBA Team

Sin City has begun laying the groundwork for an NBA team. I mean, if Oklahoma can have one, why can’t Las Vegas? Mayor Oscar Goodman seems to agree since he has already moved forward with plans to build a 20,000-seat arena. According to SI.com, Goodman has fought long and hard to persuade NBA execs that Las Vegas would be the perfect city for an NBA team. If Oklahoma has the "Thunder," why can't Las Vegas have the "Sinners?" Like everything in Sin City, the move is a gamble. The Las Vegas City Council is already looking into a contract with a construction company for the arena. But what if Goodman can’t secure an NBA team? He’ll be stuck with an empty arena and a bunch of angry taxpayers. Normally, cities... [Read more]
Contract Negotiation For Rondo Not Dead Yet
October 28, 2009 by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo

It was reported earlier in the week that contract negotiations between Rajon Rondo’s agent, Bill Duffy, and the Boston Celtics had stalled and were dead in the water. Apparently, the negotiations are still afloat. According to ESPN The Magazine, a contract extension for the lightening-quick point guard could still be reached before Saturday’s deadline. Rajon Rondo is hoping that his contract extension with the Celtics soars to $65 million. Rajon Rondo currently makes $2 million per year playing for the Celtics, which pales in comparison to other starting point guard salaries around the NBA. Though Rondo has had his share of off-court missteps, he definitely deserves a pay raise. He’s been solid for the Celtics, especially during... [Read more]
