The Conduit shows off “hardcore” features
The Conduit 'Features' trailer It looks like the Wii is finally going to have another “hardcore” game. High Voltage Software, known for titles such as Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law (PS2, Wii, PSP) and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude (PS2, PC, Xbox), is developing The Conduit for the Nintendo Wii. While the Wii may be considered underpowered compared to its rival consoles, The Conduit includes interesting “features” that make it look like a semi-respectable, run-of-the-mill sci-fi FPS. Video review: Crysis Warhead is still the best way to punish your PC
Aside from a growing list of must-have games, the other thing I’d like to have this coming holiday season is a beefy new PC that can run bleeding-edge FPSes Crysis and Crysis Warhead at maximum resolution and detail without any hitches. Fat chance of that happening, though. The next best thing is to watch how GameTrailers liked Crysis Warhead. Surprise of the week: Yahtzee thinks Mercenaries 2 is “fun”
Here’s something I didn’t see coming—Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, the grumpiest gaming curmudgeon that mocked so many games this side of Metal Gear Solid 4, has begrudgingly admitted that Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is fun. Yes, the AI is shit and the GTA clone sandbox game is full of bugs, but it’s still fun. I was expecting a hilarious rant that would deconstruct each flaw. Well, Croshaw did engage in an uproarious, close-to-five-minutes tirade, but he also confessed that he enjoyed blowing everything up. Sigh. I might consider selling blood this holidays. [Read more]
Shellshock 2 morphs into a survival horror FPS
Remember Shellshock: Nam ‘67? It’s a reviled third-person shooter from Eidos that came out four years ago. There’s a sequel coming this December, but it isn’t quite the same game. Shellshock 2: Blood Trails has morphed into a survival horror FPS. [Read more] [Read more]
