Everyone has a mobile phone these days. You probably won’t find a retro cellular phone the size of an encyclopedia to strap to your belt, but here’s something that might just make you feel better about using your mobile phone.

This retro (have I said “retro” enough times yet) looking handset and cord simply plugs in to the 2mm jack outlet on your mobile phone that you would normally use for a hands-free set. When people see you using this they will either think that you’re really cool or just absolutely crazy. Does it work with all phones? No. However, you can find adapters to fit most phones. A button on the handset answers and ends the call. If you want to go cordless, they also have a bluetooth handset .

You can find the corded retro handset at Thinkgeek.com for $29.99. Sure that may seem rather expensive, but that’s the price you pay to look cool, right?

In fact I want to turn off Fox News ever time I see it turned on. Let’s not forget the Springer days and all that other crap that they send through the air waves.

TV B-Gone

When I’m at work people are always watching the Lifetime Movie Network during our lunch break. I would rather at least watch the news and see what is going on the the real world.

If you want to shut that T.V off why not just do it? For $19.99 you can have that power. You can have the power to turn on or off just about any television you want to. That’s right, now you can be that a**hole. For $19.99 you can own your very own TV B-Gone that attaches to your key chain like a car remote, but better. With the touch of a button and a short waiting period, that TV will be off and people will be baffled as to why their favorite show just vanished from the black box. Look at it as you doing them (and yourself) a favor.

TV B-Gone is prgrammed to search for the turn-off code of the TV that it’s pointed at and then…shut it off. For some televisions it may take a little longer, but most are said to shut off within the first 20 seconds. The battery will last about 3 months depending on your use. So where can you get a TV B-Gone? Where else? TVBgone.com.

UFC Undisputed 2009 by THQ is probably the most complicated fight game I have ever played. If you think you can jump right in to it without using the tutorial, you-are-going-to-fail! Even with the tutorial it’s going to take a lot of getting used to.

UFC 2009 Undisputed

The problem that I may pose for reviewing a fighting game is that I don’t play that often. I just don’t have the time.

This passed long weekend I had a chance to finish the tutorial and start playing around. The graphics are great and the game play is fun, it’s just that if you’re not the avid gamer then getting used to the controls is going to take some time.

If you are looking to start in career mode and build your own fighter, your best bet is to play for while in exhibition mode and use different fighters before starting a career. Get used to the controls and the game functions, that way when you do start career mode you don’t start off with a crappy record like my already 0-2.

This game is a blast to play and as Dana White mentioned, it’s not for the average button masher. There is no way you can possibly win by just pressing random buttons and hoping you get lucky. You have to block, stick and move. Avoid getting gassed out and learn to flick the controller sticks instead of holding them while punching. There are so many things to memorize and even if you do have all the basic moves memorized, it’s a matter of executing them. The controls are very reactive if used properly.

The average, lazy button mashing player will get bored and frustrated with this game very quickly and will likely say that it sucks. I’m one of those casual gamers that when given the time, will play FPS games for hours. This is a whole new realm to me. If this is the first fighting game you’ve bought in some time, be patient, be precise and practice. It’s the only way you’re going to get the most out of this game.

I’m sure there are much more thorough reviews of this game out there, I’m just throwing my 2 hours of experience in.

Great game and very challenging. Definitly worth the money vs. time played factor.

According to MMAWeekly.com, UFC President Dana White wouldn’t let one word slip as to who would be the next coaches.
UFC president Dana White was asked point blank if the coaches for the tenth season of the show had been picked, and while he was able to confirm they have been chosen, he wouldn’t divulge any names.

We won’t know for sure until next week, but there is some speculation that is might just be the new UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida and former champ Quinton Jackson, whom he’ll be defending his title against at UFC 101.

Ultimate Fighter logo

According to MMAWeekly.com, UFC President Dana White wouldn’t let one word slip as to who would be the next coaches.

UFC president Dana White was asked point blank if the coaches for the tenth season of the show had been picked, and while he was able to confirm they have been chosen, he wouldn’t divulge any names.

“I’m not going to tell you. We start filming on the 1st and there’s a media day on like the 2nd or 3rd. All your questions will be answered then,” White responded.

While that would be interseting, I’d like to see someone else coach this time around. It’s nice to see new coaches every season and to be honest, I wasn;t all that impressed with Rampage’s caoching. Not that I could have done a better job, but I just like to see really good coaching going on instead of the coaches always sitting up against the all all the time.

I think Machida would be very interesting to see coach and what he could bring in and teach the contestants.

We’ll see who the next coaches are after the press meeting next week.

The rumble controller let you know when you were getting hit and taking damage, as if your energy or life bar wasn’t an indicator.

TN Games 3rd Space FPS Vest

While most controllers still use the function and no matter how foolish you think it is, you still have to have it!

What if you could take that controller and wrap it around you and you could actually feel where the incoming fire was coming from when playing a first-person-shooter game? Wouldn’t that be pretty cool? Then you could try and find the source and kill it, if you aren’t already hamburger.

The 3rd Space FPS Gaming Vest by TN Games does just that. It’s a vest you wear while you play an FPS on your PC. While it only works with Call Of Duty 2, (which it ships with) and it’s own game 3rd Space Incursion, it’s also only PC compatible. Kind of makes the price of $140 impractical. The vest has 8 “activity zones” as they call it and uses compressed air to simulate being shot. I guess it’s probably the closest thing you’ll ever get to real combat fire without actually being shot and/or getting off of your butt. The compressor is small and the vest plugs in the a USB port.

Actually, reading up a bit more on it, I just found that it is compatible with over 20 PC games now and coming this fall it will be compatible with gaming consoles as well. There are some system requirments, but those are mainly for the games.

The vest comes in Small/Medium and Large/X-Large. If you need anything more than Extra large, perhaps you need to lay off of the gaming for a little while and get out of the house.

For more information and to see if the new digital camouflage, Black or Pink is your color visit TNGames.com.

You have to have various different pieces of equipment and software and it can become extremely expensive. If you’re not looking to spend too much money and you still want a good, polished sound you have many other options.

Korg nano Series USB Midi Controllers

A midi keyboard and interface can be pricey, especially if you’re a beginner. Korg has been a huge name in the music industry for a long time and they don’t sacrifice quality. If you’re looking for a small, easily portable midi keyboard at a low price with extras, you may want to consider the Korg Nano Digital Music Controllers.

The Korg Nano Digital Music Controllers puts three different style controls on your desktop that plug in through a USB port. No need for a midi interface. While the functions of the Nano Series Korg controllers are limited compared to other more expensive controllers, they still hold a great amount of value and will save a lot of space in the home studio. Their size also makes them very portable in case you need to pack up your gear and bring it to a friends studio to work.

Here is the skinny on the three controllers from the Korg website.

“So c’mon; meet the nanoSERIES! The nanoKEY features a great-feeling 25-key velocity-sensitive keyboard that’s ideal for song production. Each key can also be set to send MIDI control data, further expanding its power. Next up is the nanoPAD, featuring 12 highly responsive trigger pads, each capable of sending up to eight notes – or eight MIDI control messages – simultaneously, in addition to an X-Y touchpad with roll and flam functions for realistic drum programming. Last but not least, nanoKONTROL offers nine faders, nine knobs, 18 switches, plus a full transport section for expansive control; even a flexible note input mode to help you lay down your next big groove!”

You can choose the Korg Nano series in black or white and the bundle of the three comes with a price of $49.99 to $59.00, depending on which Nano controller you want. The Nano-Key, which is obviously the keyboard costs $49.99, while the Nano-Pad and Nano-Kontrol go for $59.99 at Sweetwater.com. You may be able to find a bundle of the three for about $130 at Abes Of Maine.
