So you’re wanting to grab the meta data information from the photo and then display that dynamically in the Word document? Interesting, but not sure how you’d do it. Hopefully a reader will have the answer.

I am looking for a way to extract the “date taken” attribute to use with a merge in Word 2007.

I am successfully adding a photo to a merge via the “includepicture” function and would like to also include the “date taken” attribute along with the resulting photo.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I can get everything to work using the information you’ve suggested. The problem is that I want the images to refresh without the user having to use CTRL+A and F9. Something else that needs to be clarified is you basically double the dashes that are normally used. For example, if you’re connecting to a network resource like \\networkpath\folderA would be \\\\networkpath\\folderA in your template fields.

press ctral+A then press F9.
use // when giving path not /
send the sample copy of ur problem

have you by any chance solved this problem.. pressing F9 across all such fields is such a pain… ??
