B2B Viral marketing tactics

Here’s a nice little timewaster for your Friday. A multi-level game to promote Supplier Solutions, a B2B service that connects procurement people with suppliers. I’m seeing more of this with B2B, using tactics that are more prevalent in the B2C space, as they try and compete in new ways. Interestingly, the embed code is labelled as ‘for your MySpace’ which I’m pretty sure is not high in relevancy for the target audience for the service, even is the game is cute and fun. The game is made my Tamba, a group that does seem to produce consistently playable and distracting games.

In this case, the company commits to promote itself on behalf of the suppliers who are listed, to attract procurement specialists. They make money by charging for listings; I’m not sure if they do any quality check on suppliers but they do at least try and make sure you are not listed with too many direct competitors.
