Back to England

I promised some time ago to post pictures of pubs in Rye, but circumstances prevented that. Rye is the quintessential British town, the type of place you’d see in a period movie. Sure, it’s probably the kind of place for grandmothers and retirees, but the pubs are numerous and enticing. Here are a few photos for you.

The Cinque Ports was a pleasant little pub, and the only one in town with wireless.

The Union Inn has some nice brews (including Harvey’s from nearby Lewes) and good food.

This is one of the many pubs I had hoped to try, but failed to (maybe next time)

If there’s a next time in Rye (and our health cooperates) maybe I’ll post some more comprehensive reviews.
