Back to the 80s “Adventureland” Soundtrack

Adventureland hit theaters late last month (check out the preview and trailer) and one of the things that I love about it is that it is set
in the 1980s, one of my favorite decades in history. The clothes, the music (all synthesizers and saxophone solos) and the movies make anything from the era instantly recognizable.
When you think about a classic 80s film, you can’t help but think about the music. What would Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (my favorite movie of all-time) be without the “chica chica” music? Or how about The Breakfast Club without “Don’t You Forget About Me”? It would be ALL WRONG!
While Adventureland is a modern flick taken place in the 80s, they definitely put effort into adding music from the right time (unlike Moulin Rouge – what a disaster). This soundtrack features goodies from Falco, David Bowie and Crowded House, just like a good 80s movie should. Here’s the tracklisting:
1. Satellite Of Love, Lou Reed
2. Modern Love, David Bowie
3. I’m In Love With A Girl, Big Star
4. Just Like Heaven, The Cure
5. Rock Me Amadeus, Falco
6. Don’t Change, Inxs
7. Your Love, The Outfield
8. Don’t Dream It’s Over, Crowded House
9. Looking For A Kiss, The New York Dolls
10. Don’t Want To Know If You Are Lonely, Husker Du
11. Unsatisfied, The Replacements
12. Pale Blue Eyes, The Velvet Underground
13. Farewell Adventureland, Yo La Tengo
14. Adventureland Theme Song, Brian Kenney
