Backlash Predictions

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels (Fatal Four Way Match)

John Cena has momentum coming into this PPV despite losing this week on Raw. After an hour long match Shawn Michaels pinned Cena in a non-title match but the win probably means Michaels is not going to win. Randy Orton is certainly not going to win after his “incident” in Europe and that leaves us Edge and Cena. Edge has no kind of momentum going at present because he was out of action for so long before Wrestlemania with a fractured jaw. I see Cena retaining pinning Randy Orton but second most likely is Edge and then Shawn Michaels.

Winner:  John Cena to retain

ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon & Umaga (3-on-1 Handicap Match)

Despite the “odds” being stacked against him in this handicap match I don’t see anyway WWE will give the ECW title to anyone but Lashley in this one. Lashley has little momentum going (in my opinion) since he hasn’t put the title on the line in a long time but  I just can’t imagine WWE giving the belt to Umaga or either McMahon.

Winner: Bobby Lashley to retain

World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker vs. Batista (Last Man Standing Match)

There is no way WWE should strip ‘Taker of the title mere weeks after winning it back. I am sure it will be a valiant showing but this should not be a shocker to anyone.

Winner: Undertaker to retain

World Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch

I might sound like a broken record here but Cade & Murdoch don’t have the momentum needed to hold the tag titles. In an attempt to give them the momentum they need WWE had them both win singles matches over the Hardys but it is not enough as the Hardys will “overcome the odds” and retain the titles.

Winners: The Hardys to retain

United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. MVP

In a true Wrestlemania rematch we will see MVP face Chris Benoit yet again. I was not an MVP fan when he debuted but he has a good heel status with fans now and I think this is MVP’s time to claim the title.

Winner: MVP

Women’s Champion Melina vs. Mickie James

Wish I didn’t have to comment on divas matches but I see James regaining the title

Winner: Mickie James

Those are all of the announced matches but on the off chance of Deuce & Domino vs. London & Kendrick I see D & D retaining their newfound titles.
