Ball Players Think Milwaukee Hotel Haunted

There is a story circulating that says many ball players believe that the Pfister Hotel, located in Milwaukee, is haunted. This interests me because I’ve stayed at the Pfister a few times and because the image of big, burly ball players shaking in their little beds at the sounds of goblins makes me giggle. (I’m not saying I wouldn’t do the same thing, but I’m not a big, burly ball player and it just wouldn’t be as funny if I was shaking in my little bed.)

Because the Pfister is one of the nicest hotels around, ball players from out of town often stay there. One report said that:
A player for the Dodgers has been known to sleep with a baseball bat for protection after hearing odd noises. And two pairs of Florida Marlins players reportedly demand to share a room when they’re in Milwaukee because they’re afraid of ghosts.
Brendan Ryan from the St. Louis Cardinals told one Milwaukee reporter about a weird happening in his room. He said, “It was more like a moving light that kind of passed through the room. It was very strange. The room got a little bit chillier.”
Could this be why the Brewers are doing so well right now? Because the opposing team is spooked and getting no sleep? Makes ya wonder….

It’s not that it’s such a nice hotel (the ballplayers tend to prefer a more modern facility, although I personally love the place).
It’s just that it’s the only not-totally-crappy hotel in downtown Milwaukee. And that’s saying something.
Never heard any funny noises the many times I stayed there, though.
