Barenaked Ladies Offer Free Music

March 7, 2007 by Mark Evans

According to TechCrunch, the Barenaked Ladies will be giving away their new album, Barenaked Ladies are Men, at no cost on Amie Street – a new service that provides downloadable music that is DRM-free. The concept behind Amie Music is fascinating: songs start at free and then increase in price as more people download a song before topping out at 98 cents. The BNL’s label, Nettwerk Music Group, plans to upload its entire library to Amie Street over the next few months.
Update: If you’re looking to check out Amie Street’s Web site, forget about doing it today. A little TechCrunch love has obviously overloaded Amie’s servers.
