Barry Greenstein on Playing Large Hands on Flop
Of course it’s easy to win the pot when you flop a large hand, but there’s a lot of variance as to the methods employed in getting the most money out of your opponents when you do flop the nuts.
Here is Barry Greenstein commenting on how to bet a big hand, in a specific hand he played in a recent broadcast of the WPT where he flops the ignorant end of a straight and makes a decent amount against two players in the hand:
I like Him betting out here, particularly into two players, as it is way too easy to flop the nuts and check or check raise, which often just serves to let the player either check behind and draw for free and does not give them the option to try to sense weakness and raise, as it is expected for players who flop huge hand to check.
A great inside look at the betting strategy behind a great poker mind.
