Using Windows Vista for your Home Media Center is simple for simple requirements like recording your TV show.

Below are the things you would need for the basic setup:

1. Windows Media Center – this is the software found in Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate Editions
2. 500GB to 1 TB Disk Drive – this should make your Windows Home Media Center worthwhile especially when you need lots of hard disk space to record your favorite TV show
3. TV tuner – this makes your home media center a blast. Vista should be able to support four TV tuners for maximum satisfaction

Optional items:

4. Speakers – for great sound quality
5. Wireless controllers – wireless keyboard and mouse should be fine
