In an alleged email authored by Michael Bay that was posted on TMZ, he was quite angry about the lack of marketing for Transformers 2. Bay is the director of the sequel, which is due to hit theaters on June 24th in the United States.
According to Michael Bay, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had sub par online marketing, print marketing and television marketing.
Said Bay: “I’m sure the Yahoo downloads of the trailer are far lower than last movie – I would of got something saying how we broke download records like last time.”
In the email, which was allegedly sent in May, Michael Bay rambled along for a page and a half to a number of people at Paramount.
Another marketing related excerpt from Bay: “So far our print has been in my opinion and abject failure. The summer previews for entertainment weekly was really weak. The Los Angeles Times Sunday sneaks, we were not on the cover in the form of a name and had a pathetic presence in the newspaper.”
