Be a Yoga Goddess

Now here’s a move I wish I would have know when I was a younger woman. It’s a great pose for building self-confidence, awareness and mindfulness. Everyone should include this move in their yoga “arsenal” as a regular part of your routine. It feels great, gets you back in touch with your body and your spirit, and is especially good for helping to develop emotional awareness.
Of course, all yoga practices provide bridges to your spirit that can help you achieve greater access to your emotions. But this move, this is a special treat for those of us who can fall into a rut about how we perceive ourselves.
The Goddess:
The Goddess pose is what I refer to as a strong, standing pose. When I am feeling low, I find it can make me feel both beautiful and confident.
Here’s how it goes:
Stand tall, and spreading your legs wider than shoulder-width apart, with your toes pointing outward. Bend your knees slightly as you lower your hips.
Take a moment to feel the ground beneath your feet. Your legs should feel heavy and strong. Stay in this position for a few breaths, as you keep your shoulders relaxed and feel the stretch in your chest and upper back.
As you feel the stretch, take a few moments to think about how strong and confident you are, and know that you can do anything you set your mind to.
Relax.
Now I have had a couple of requests for visuals for poses. I am getting those together (puppy and goddess first) and will post those as well so you can give them a try at home.
Meanwhile, keep working at becoming a Yoga Goddess, and I will too.
Until next time,
Peace.
Goddess pose is a strong standing pose. It can make you feel beautiful, proud, and confident. Standing tall, spread your legs wider than shoulder-width apart, pointing your toes out. Bend your knees slightly and lower your hips. Feel the contact with the ground beneath your feet. Your legs feel heavy and strong. Stay here for a few breaths, keeping your shoulders relaxed and feeling the stretch in your chest and upper back. You are strong and confident and can do anything that you set your mind to.

Yes! This pose sounds great. FABULOUS name, too. ;)
