Beanie Wells won’t be Back After All

When Ohio State’s Chris “Beanie” Wells initially got hurt, fans wanted to believe he’d be back against Ohio. That didn’t happen, but hey, no big deal.
This week, it is a big deal.
Saturday, Ohio State will meet USC on the field for the first time in 18 years. They’re a 10 1/2 point underdog, and even with Beanie, fans would have reason to be nervous. Earlier this week, coach Jim Tressel had said Wells would play. That “definitely” went from “probably” to “doubtful” in a real hurry.
“We were hoping he’d wake up this morning and feel even better than yesterday,” Tressel said, “But it didn’t happen. We’ll see from here.”
Wells did travel with the team to California and participated partially in practices, but has a lot of pain. The situation isn’t looking good for Saturday, and if OSU doesn’t have a 100% Beanie Wells, I wouldn’t bet on them to win…not by a long shot.
