Beer Truck Driver Submits to Temptation

The Houston Chronicle reported a story about a beer truck driver who crashed his truck while drunk on the job. I DO NOT in any way condone drinking and driving, I am a huge fan of public transit and greasy cabs, but can you really blame the guy? He’s stuck in a semi-truck all day with sweet, sweet beer so close within reach. The smarter thing to do would have been to wait until he reached his destination, then sneak a few into his cab to bring home. Getting fired for stealing is no big deal, but a trucker who crashes a truck while drunk, that’s gotta hurt your employment potential.

According to the article, the beer was contained in the truck. That’s gotta disappoint onlookers. I’d be part of the clean-up crew that gets rid of a truck of overturned beer.
