Details surrounding the opening ceremonies for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games have started to emerge and, well, it’s basically what I thought it was going to be! VOA News is reporting that Zhang Yimou, the film director, has designed the whole event which will include a “huge fireworks display, colorful ethnic dancing, dragons, pandas and a cast of thousands highlighting 5,000 years of Chinese history.”
Well, as predictable as it might be, I’m sure the ceremonies are going to be gorgeous! My favorite summer opener, so far, has been the Athens 2004. They were so inventive and the mid-air performances were breathtaking! It will be tough to beat in my mind but if anyone can create an awe-inspiring program, it will be China! Bring on the games!
