Best Little Known App for Startups & Small Businesses

Lifehacker’s recent post on the most underhyped apps reminded me that I never told you about my favorite app of 2008.

I was a beta tester for one of his picks, and I need to tell you, I am addicted to Dropbox myself.

Dropbox, which is a new startup, is great when you have a virtual team because it allows you share any typ of file easily. I also got to share cute photos of my twin girls with their grandparents who live across the pond in England.

Basically all you have to do is drop your files you want into the dropbox folders and designate who gets access. It automatically updates their dropbox with the files.

But perhaps the best use of Dropbox is that I can access files on my laptop or on my desktop easily. So no more USB drives or emails for me.

Shannon: These apps which put stuff on the web sound great, but they make me nervous. What is your Internet were dead and you needed to get something? I backup everything on an external backup – at least that way I don’t need to worry about getting it in a DSL slowdown. Of course, if the power is out I have a whole of more to worry about than getting my files….
