Better World Club offers Better Roadside Assistance
MudslideMama (AKA travel writer, Jennifer W Miner) offers eco-friendly drivers a great tip in her recent blog at Traveling Mamas. If you’ve ever been enrolled (or interested in joining) a roadside assistance service, like AAA, there is an earth-friendlier alternative … the Better World Club.
The Better World Club offers everything that tripe-A does, without any of your membership fees going to the highway lobby (as with AAA). The Better World Club offers discounts on hybrid rental cars, discounts on eco-travel, and helps fight global warming by offering it members free carbon offsets (when purchasing airline tickets through BWT). Better World Clubdonates 1% of its revenue to environmental cleanup, and even offers roadside assistance for bicycles.
Even if you don’t join, check out their newsletter, Driving Change, and keep tabs on auto issues and how they’re impacting the planet … and how YOU can help.

Hilary,
What a great site you have here! Thanks for the “shout out.” By the way, the guy who started Better World Club, Mitch Rofsky, was also one of the driving forces behind getting Working Assets up and running (that’s the credit card company that only invests in socially and environmentally responsible industry).
I really like your site - stay in touch.
I remember Working Assets. Haven’t thought of them in awhile though.
Thanks for stopping by. :)
