The Buffalo Bills soap opera of an offseason continues. The latest drama happened on Saturday when safety Donte Whitner got tasered and arrested outside of the House of Blues in Cleveland. Whitner was in Cleveland to celebrate Ted Ginn, Jr.’s birthday. Ginn, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, was a high school teammate.

According to the police statement, Whitner became violent and then police officers tried to restrain him. However, after breaking free, Whitner allegedly got into a fighting stance and was subsequently tasered by police. At that point, the police were able to handcuff him.
Whitner is being charged with resisting arrest and aggravated disorderly conduct. After being released, Whitner apologized to everyone involved in the incident.
The Bills have had to deal with other drama this offseason including Marshawn Lynch getting suspended for three games, Terrell Owens skipping workouts and safety Ko Simpson getting arrested.
This isn’t Whitner’s first brush with the law. In 2006, he was arrested in Buffalo for harassment against his girlfriend.
