Bindra Wins First Ever Individual Gold for India

Abhinav Bindra, 24, bested the defending Olympic champion, Zhu Qinan of China, to win the Gold Medal in the men’s 10m air rifle competition. It is the first ever individual Gold Medal for India.

Bindra is the 2006 World Champion in this event and finished seventh in the Athens Games.

The Bronze Medal went to Henri Hakkinen of Finland.
