Bioshock gets a release date for the PS3

After what seemed like an eternity, Bioshock finally has a release date for the PlayStation 3. Mark your calendars, PS3 owners, because the critically-acclaimed FPS/horror game is coming in North America on October 21 and internationally on October 24.
Interestingly, Bioshock’s PS3 version comes with new content. This includes the Survivor difficulty mode, and Trophy support, among others.
Also mentioned in the press release was the addition of challenge rooms, which “will test the mettle of new and seasoned gamers by requiring them to utilize the knowledge and skills they have learned while traversing the halls of Rapture.”
Think Portal.
The first Bioshock challenge room will be viewable by appointment at Games Convention 2008 (CCL, Level 0, A02/1 + A02/2) from August 20 to August 24 and will be available for download shortly “after launch.” Strangely, there was no mention if the challenge rooms would be released as an add-on for the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

Could you have chosen a creepier picture?!
Since my poor desktop basically ran away in fear when I mentioned Bioshock, I’m glad that there’s a hard release date for the PS3 version.
I know my superior gaming machine is ready for it.
I’ll take that as a compliment, Amy. ;) I was aiming for the scary effect, and I guess it worked.
Yes, Bioshock is indeed coming to the PS3. I might have to stick to rental on this one though, I already have the PC version. Then again, I’d have to conserve the number of installations because of that blasted SecuROM feature.
Anybody want a second-hand Bioshock for the PC? No scratches, tin box. Installed once.
This PS3 version is beginning to sound good by the minute.
This sounds awesome…! Cant wait to see how it turns out on PS3..!
Hey Carlo! Have you gotten a PS3 or 360 yet? I expect Bioshock to be as awesome on the PS3 as it was on the 360.
I’m just not too hot with my PC version right now.
