Blinkx Puts Ads in Embeds

Hot on the heels of GooTube sharing revenue with embedders of selected YouTube videos through AdSense, video search engine Blinkx unveils a program allowing embedders to put contextual ads in any video from any popular video-sharing site. Appropriately dubbed AdHoc, the program contextualizes ads using Blinkx’s speech recognition technology. By contrast, every other program out there that puts ads in embeds relies on text keywords for contextualization.
Signup’s a breeze, setup’s even breezier, and payment’s through PayPal. To demonstrate, I’ve inserted AdHoc in an embed of one of my YouTube videos below. Since AdHoc ads are top rollovers, they should be perfectly compatible with YouTube’s bottom rollovers. Revver, AdSense Video Units, and now Blinkx AdHoc — now there are more ways than ever for embedders to get a secondary slice of the growing online video ad revenue pie.
