Blogging for someone else, where do you stand?

Well since Scrivs has been far too busy to provide an SQL dump of my posts here on WorkBoxers, I ask the community, what should you do?
What do you do when you ask for a backup of all your posts and comments .. and while replies from your blogging host seem positive, they never deliver? Do you forget about it and move on, or persist?
For those that are blogging for a network and don’t have full control over your blog, I highly recommend you find out where you stand. If you wanted to move away, will your blog host allow you to take your articles elsewhere? It’s a tricky situation that may not end up in your favour.

At least I’m not the only one Scrivs isn’t communicating with atm :P

Can’t you use one of the backup plugins for WordPress to export your posts instead? Obviously an SQL dump might be better but if you’re having troubles getting that then it might be worth trying other options.
Not sure calling the host out in public is productive.
I’m sure I could Paul, if the plugin was installed …

If your new blog also runs WP2, you can use the Import utility to get the posts and comments via RSS.

I have tried that method, however it won’t pull in comments, only posts. I wish to copy comments as well :(
I haven’t encountered a script or plugin that can do that (include the comments as well), except maybe the default WP DB Backup plugin but since you don’t have access to the hosting account, can’t think of any other way around.
Copy and paste?
