It is no surprise that these tough financial times , people are looking for guidance. Indeed, many people are wondering about personal finance strategies that can get them through this recession. One book that might be helpful to some looking for those struggling right now is Money Strategies for Tough Times by Matt Bell.

Money Strategies looks at finances from a Christian perspective (Bell is a member of a financial ministry), and provides insights that anyone can use 51ifxwvmtl_sl500_aa240_during this recession — and beyond. The book first address the idea of personal responsibility . It opens by providing hope that you can get to a better place financially, and then helps you take a brutally honest look at where you are now.

Once you have come to grips with where you are now, Bell encourages you to get “serious” about debt reduction and improving your current financial situation. Bell looks at unsecured debt vs. secured debt, and provides strategies for dealing with both. There is also a chapter on coping with job loss and strategies for supplementing your income, tapping your reserves and getting back on your feet.

Money Strategies includes useful and illustrative worksheets to help you create a money plan. The overall feeling of the book is one of hope, providing you with the tools you need to succeed in turning your financial life around . I found it an encouraging read, and one that provides practical advice even for those not currently in financial trouble.
