What is a Boom-A-Fair? A Boom-A-Fair is a Job Fair for Baby Boomers. You must be 40 years old to attend!! That is a unique Job Fair. “Last year, nearly 2,500 boomer job seekers descended upon the Jefferson County Fairgrounds armed with strong resumes, business cards, and the desire to find that next great opportunity. There to greet them were close to 100 businesses eager to meet these highly qualified job seekers. Businesses that sign up to participate in the BOOM-A-FAIR know this much is true – Baby Boomers bring experience, commitment, and insight which are invaluable to today’s employers.”>>>more

Where: Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Golden Colorado
When: Tuesday, April 22, 2008
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Confirmed Employers Include: Starbucks, Ameristar Casino, King Soopers, Jefferson County Government, Wells Fargo, Babies R Us, Fitzgeralds, RTD, Verizon Wireless, and St. Anthony’s Hospital to name a few.

I think this idea is right on the money A Boom-A-Fair should be offered in all states. Boomers want to get out into the workforce again. They may need health insurance, so a part-time job would help cover the costs of that expense.
We Boomers are a fabulous resource for the young whipper snappers that will probably be training us at out new part-time jobs. lol lol lol
