Borderlands Release Date Kind of Announced

I’ve been complaining and bellyaching about Borderlands for years and FINALLY we have a release date! Shacknews is reporting that the game will hit no later than October 31st, 2009.
It’s about damn time!
I thought I was cool with the new artistic direction for Borderlands but the more I look at the new screenshots, the more I’m starting to not like them. The style was dirty, mean and made you believe that such a world could exist. It wasn’t exactly realism but just this side of it. The new style looks like the old style got together with Okami and made a baby. Mind you, it’s a pretty baby but after pining after the old screenshots for so long, I’m left missing what I got comfortable with.
So, maybe this new direction will grow on me. Once I have the game in my hot little hands, maybe Borderlands will blow me away so much that the dirtier look will be a distant memory.
