Bot Bets On Fall For Guitar Hero III

Don’t you love those generally annoying and useless help bots that spit out babble in response to your increasingly frustrated questions? You know the ones…they leave you typing things like “(#@&(@%&@)@)&#!!!!!”, and only respond “I do not understand that request”. Well it looks like one of these charming non-entities has finally been of use.
RedOctane, publisher of the Guitar Hero series, had the knowledge base bot in its support forums slip a little added information into one of its responses. When asked about platform releases for Guitar Hero II, the bot helpfully replied that “Guitar Hero 3 for the Playstation 2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii are currently scheduled for release in the United States in Fall of 2007.”

The text has since been removed from the original forum thread, but the damage is already done, and the rumor mill is getting all wound up about the intricacies of multiple platform releases. It looks like we may be rockin’ out for a third time before the year ends.
