Oscar De La Hoya will square off with Steve Forbes on May 3rd at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

The fight will serve as a tune-up for De La Hoya ahead of a September rematch with Floyd Mayweather and is also the first of his final three fights.

De La Hoya is a six-time world titleist as well as a gold medal winner for the US at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. His record currently stands at 38-5 with 30 knockouts. His amateur record was 223-5.

Forbes too is a former title-holder, previously holding the IBF and USBA super featherweight titles. He is well-known for his appearance of season 2 of “The Contender” making it to the finals before losing to Grady Brewer.
