Breaking News: Chris Benoit, Family Dead

There is sad news to report tonight as Chris Benoit and his family have been found dead in their Atlanta home. This statement was released on WWE.com earlier today:

World Wrestling Entertainment is deeply saddened to report that today Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their home. There are no further details at this time, other than the Benoit family residence is currently being investigated by local authorities.

Tonight’s Raw on USA Network (8/7 CT) will serve as a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family. WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family’s relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy.

The sad news came just a day after Benoit was unable to compete and Vengeance due to “personal reasons”. After last being seen by the WWE officials this past week Benoit was scheduled to work a house show on Saturday as well as the PPV last night but he called off both shows because a member/members of his family were sick. According to reports they were coughing up blood and he returned home to take care of them.

Details are very hard to come by but police are investigating. I will pass along more news as soon as we hear of it.
