NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Could Brett Favre be playing football in the sunshine next year? Would Deanna Favre be happier?

2008 ESPY Awards - Backstage And Audience

The Squibster is after the all time record for writing about Brett Favre or maybe just an invite to the house on Thanksgiving. Only this year it looks like he won’t be torching my Lions.

Favre’s career with the Green Bay Packers is all but over after two days of extended meetings with coach Mike McCarthy and General Manager Ted Thompson, so the sides turned this afternoon and evening to possible trades for the quarterback.

Thompson is remaining firm about not trading Favre to NFC North Division rival Minnesota, and Favre appears unwilling to try to leverage that deal by staying at training camp.

So the subject has turned to the two teams that have shown keen interest in acquiring Favre for more than a week now, Tampa Bay and the New York Jets.

To Tampa Bay? What does that say about how much they like Jeff Garcia? Didn’t he take them to the playoffs?

To the New York Jets? Ok, it is only Chad Pennington and crew. This one is different. The Jets really improved their lines and now would love to have a QB of Brett Favre’s stature.
