Britain’s Chambers Denied Olympic Bid

British sprinter Dwain Chambers was unable to convince the High Court to overturn his lifetime ban from the Olympics. Although he won the 100m race at the 2008 British Olympic Athletics trials with a time of 10 seconds, the two-year world wide ban and the lifetime suspension from the Olympics was upheld after he was caught taking performance-enhancing drugs in 2004.
British Olympic Association (BOA) chairman Colin Moynihan was quoted on the BOA official website saying nobody found guilty of serious drug cheating offenses should have the honor of wearing a Team GB vest at the Olympic Games.
Well, I can’t say that I disagree. If he really was guilty of doping, he already had a chance to compete at the games drug-free when that spot could have been given to someone who actually wanted to win based on their own merit.
